The user on the datasource does only have access to the specified db. No rights on master or other, but set as db-owner on the contentbox specified dsn. I did also log into SSMS and with that user (role is db_owner) and created and deleted a table, so the should have enough elevation.

Please note that in mssql 2016 I do not get this issue

Ok we have identified what happens. For some reason the jdbc changes to the master db instead of the assigned data source. Check your master db for contentbox tables and remove them. Not sure if it's a hibernate dialect issue. But this solves the issue

Ken, Make sure that your database is empty before running the installer please. Let ContentBox create the database tables for you.
