This is great Joel!!

Because it opens the door of creating custom tag elements that can be enhanced HTML via ContentBox. We did this with CodexWiki and now I can port all of the other tags we did with Codex:

<MessageBox type="" message"">

<RSS feed="">

It really is nicer than the widget syntax as well.

A few more tests needed, but I believe I have a work-around to the issue I originally noticed when trying to insert a faux-HTML tag in <IE9. I've tested (as far as I'm able), and can now insert a <widget ...></widget> tag in IE7 and IE8.

In my tests, I'm also still able to apply custom styling within CKEditor to the widget tag, and the getAscendant() call when accessing an existing widget tag via the context menu is working as well.

So far, this is working in Chrome, FF, and IE7+.

I'll keep testing in <IE9, but I'm going to move forward with the widget tag syntax.
