Environment: Mac OS 10.15.7 Installed java: adoptopenjdk8/adoptopenjdk11 (installed through homebrew, both doesn't work) Whether its installing commandbox with JRE (through homebrew) or without JRE (remove the installed java then downloaded the binary and run the box), both fails with the error message:

Removing the .Commandbox folder in the user directory then running box command again to initialize worked! thank you very much.

Can you delete the .CommandBox folder in your user directory and try again? Also, maybe get a fresh install downloaded as well.

Interesting. That error just doesn’t make any sense The JSR-223 libraries from the JDK are saying:
However that class here, clearly has a public no arg constructor.

This is a brand new error no other Mac user has reported before. Based on the message, I’m not even sure what it means. Can you confirm if there is any other text that appears in the console? Also, can you please try adding the -clidebug flag (case sensitive) and report the full output here?
