editing in the shell prompt is buggy while using Gitbash in VSCode

Description

OS: Windows 10
Gitbash in VSCode

Mainly using the arrow keys to go back and edit results in jibberish and a useless command.

1. i typed "config.json"
2. then i used left array to position cursor at the period so I can complete the spelling of "configuration"
3. this was the result of typing "uration" starting from the period:

CommandBox:test> cat config?[@u?[@r?[@a?[@t?[@i?[@o?[@n

Once this happens I can't use backspace because it places a "[?" for every backspace.

Also, I should be able to use Ctrl+a in the shell prompt to position cursor at the beginning of command line, but it only makes it to the end of the first namespace. Example:

1. CommandBox:test> cat configuration.json
2. After pressing Ctrl+a, Ctrl+K the result is: CommandBox:test> cat
